NBGI Ventures concentrates mainly on investments in early-stage medical technology companies, including those that design, manufacture and supply diagnostic equipment, therapeutic devices and other health related products and software.

We generally get involved in either the first or second institutional funding rounds but we do consider exceptionally “greenfield” or “seed capital” investments where there is particularly innovative IP or technology addressing a large market and unmet clinical need..

NBGI Ventures typically invests between € 1-5m as a first investment in a company, reserving further funds for follow-on investments and looks to participate in all further funding rounds if necessary. Our usual approach is to either lead or co-lead an investment. 

As active investors we work closely with founders and management teams both during the due diligence and post-investment, looking for situations where we can deliver operational, strategic and commercial value alongside our financial resources. NBGI Ventures believes in working with other like-minded investors and is open to syndicating where there is a synergistic rationale.

Before considering an investment, we place a lot of emphasis on our relationship with the founders and management teams and we particularly prefer working with those that are passionate about their ideas and companies.
